Description: Xperia V Supersport Jelly Bean + Ice Cream Sandwich
A stock based ROM stripped of unwanted applications, and modified under the hood for a great smooth user experience with sensible device tweaks. Created using dsixda ROM Kitchen and tweaks from Xperia related forums and threads. I have not 'developed' anything here.
Based on the latest Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean firmware for the Sony Xperia V [LT25i - 9.0.1.D.0.10 / 9.1.A.0.490 Nordic].
- Included sqlite3 database for Jelly Bean (helps with tweaks) - Amended updater script to format system before ROM install
Users who already have a working JB ROM only need to copy the sqlite3 file (attached, extract it first) to /system/xbin/sqlite3 and set permissions to rwxr-xr-x (CHMOD 0755) and reboot
- Re-based to Xperia V Jelly Bean firmware 9.1.A.0.490 - Rooted with Super SU 1.04, with updated binary - Updated Busybox to 1.21.0 (Stericson) - Deodexed system and framework folders (smali/baksmali 1.4.2) - Zipaligned all apk's using Zipalign 21.0.1 - Removed additional bloatware / unwanted applications - Moved some applications to /data/app (G+, Facebook, Livewaremanager, Xperia Link, Gmail, Google Maps, Streetview, YouTube and GMS Core) - Included ES File Explorer - Updated default applications (Facebook, Google Plus, Google Now / Search) - Init.d support included in ROM - A custom init.d script which includes various tweaks (Battery, SD Card, Virtual Memeory, Entropy / Seeder etc) - Init.d tweaks applied (Zipalign on boot, loopysmoothness) - Included additional processes into loopysmoothness tweak (Sony Music and Video Player) - Ported network tweaks - Included seeder application - Disabled CPU rendering
- Included Xperia Z launcher + Widgets (non rotational with 6x4 app tray) - Included Xperia Z Wallpapers - Replaced seeder tweak with entropy script in init.d - Included Xperia 4.1.2 keyboard (includes swipe, works very well) - Added more processes to loopysmoothness tweak - Included 30 step volume mod - Included reboot / shutdown (2 way) mod in power menu - Included more small apps (toggles, mirror, currency and size converter) - Replaced boot animation with Xperia Jelly Bean boot animation - Disabled CPU rendering - Included seeder application - Updated network tweaks
- Rooted with SuperSU 0.99 - Busybox installed (1.20.2 Stericson) - Deodexed system and framework folders - Removed additional bloatware / unwanted applicaions - Google Play Store updated to 3.10.10 - Init.d support included in ROM - Init.d tweaks applied (Zipalign on boot, loopysmoothness, entropy / seeder) - Lopysmoothness tweaked to include more Sony stock processes (phonebook, album etc) - A custom init.d script which includes most of the supremecy tweaks (Battery, SD, VM etc tweaks) - Updated Home.apk to latest Sony Jelly Bean version, included Jelly Bean Background - Moved some apps to /data/app (G+, Facebook, Livewaremanager, Xperia Link, Gmail, Google Maps, Streetview, YouTube) - Included ES File Explorer - Included leaked Xperia Jelly Bean wallpaper
***Always perform a full backup first*** Copy ROM / ZIP to Internal or external SD Card Fastboot the Jelly Bean or Ice Cream Sandwich kernel using flastool (use any of the ones quoted above which include recovary) Power on phone During start-up, press the 'Power ON / OFF' or volume up / down to enter recovery. Perform a full backup! Perform a full / factory and dalvik cache wipe (always recommended, but applying without a full wipe should not cause any issues, make sure you have a backup first!) Install the zip from the SD Card Power on your phone Boot into home screen Reboot phone another 2 times for the tweaks and OS to settle (some kernels have been reported to cause MTP / charging issues, if you get this, just fastboot a stock Jelly Bean kernel, or flash the kernel only from an FTF, you can do this by unchecking / checking the required boxes until kernel.sin and loader.sin is left)
***Locked Bootloader Install***, follow this method, and just use my zip / ROM in place of the one quoted.
***Always perform a full backup first*** Copy to Internal / SD Card Power down phone Power on phone During initial start-up, press volume down when pink LED is lit to enter TWRP or wait and press volume up during blue LED to enter CWM. Perform a full / factory and dalvik cache wipe (always recommended, but applying without a full wipe should not cause any issues, make sure you have a backup first!) Install the zip from the SD Card Apply CWM Fix to retain CWM after ROM installation if required!
Reboot and Enjoy
I would recommend booting into the phone home screen first. Give it a few minutes, and then perform a further two reboots to have the tweaks and OS loaded cleanly.
